Veterinarian (Canine, Feline)

Dr. Cynthia Trann graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College in 1982. Prior to owning Mount Joy Animal Clinic, Dr. Trann owned and operated a clinic named Ashcott out of Scarborough. In 2001, she became the practice owner of the Mount Joy Animal Clinic. Dr. Trann has a very strong love for golden retrievers. She is very active in the hunt, field, and tracking events with her dogs.
Currently Dr. Trann has Rush and Boomer, in addition to all the other clinic animals we have come to call our family.

Dr. Yiu

Veterinarian (Canine, Feline)

Dr. Chermain Yiu earned her veterinary degree in 2009 from the University of Sydney in Australia. She officially joined the Mount Joy team as a veterinarian in April 2012. Dr. Yiu officially found her veterinary calling when she previously worked for Dr. Cindy Trann as a veterinary assistant in 2000. She is fluent in English and Cantonese. In her spare time she enjoys travelling and learning about different cultures, photography, learning Mandarin and exercising.
Dr. Yiu currently resides in Scarborough with her family which includes her beautiful cat Austin.

Dr. Fong

Veterinarian (Canine, Feline)

Dr. Erica Fong has been working at The Mount Joy Animal Clinic since 2005. She received her Bachelor Degree with honors in Bio-Medical Sciences (University of Guelph) in April 2009 and her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine at the Ontario Veterinary College (University of Guelph) in April 2013. She is thrilled to be back with her Mount Joy family now and strives to provide the best healthcare to her furry friends. She speaks fluent English and Cantonese. During her free time Erica enjoys reading, skiing, playing basketball and travelling. She looks forward to expanding her animal family.
Currently, she has a very handsome cat named Fred.


Veterinarian (Canine, Feline, Pocket Pets)

Stephanie graduated from The Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies in Edinburg, Scotland in 2009. She practised in the United Kingdom for 9 years before recently moving back to Toronto and joining the Mount Joy family in April 2018. Her main interests are in soft tissue surgery, emergency medicine, and has an extensive experience with pocket pets. Stephanie loves spending time with her 12 year old Border Collie (Ollie) and her young son.

Our Staff


Registered Veterinary Technician

Amanda has been working in the veterinary medicine field since 1997 and joined the team at Mount Joy in 1999. After earning a Bachelor of Arts degree from York University she went on to graduate with honours from the Seneca College Veterinary Technician program in 2007 and completed a national exam with the Ontario Association of Veterinary Technicians to become a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT). Amanda has a special interest in Feline Medicine and geriatric patient care. She has a soft spot for our resident clinic cats and can often be seen spoiling them rotten. Amanda resides in Whitby with her beloved family dog Luigi and adorable cat Chino.


Registered Veterinary Technician

Coral is a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) who graduated with honours from Seneca College in 2010 from the Veterinary Technician program and then completed a national exam to become a Registered Veterinary Technician and a member of the Ontario Association of Veterinary Technicians. During this time she also completed a placement at the Kawartha Turtle Trauma Centre, stabilizing and continuing hospital care for injured turtles (mainly those hit by cars). She is certified to perform Class IV laser therapy and has a strong interest in Rehabilitation and Feline Medicine.
Coral currently lives with her husband Ken, daughter Clara, cat Benjamin, and armadillo lizard Kelso. She enjoys horseback riding in her spare time.


Veterinary Technician

Susan started with the Mount Joy Animal Clinic in 2009. She worked in veterinary research prior to her career here at Mount Joy. Susan has known that she was meant to work as a veterinary technician since being a small child, having spent her childhood rescuing small animals and spending all of her time with pets. Susan enjoys every aspect of being a technician, from unlimited animal cuddles, monitoring surgery patients, performing your pet’s dentistry to helping nurse sick patients. Susan resides at her home with her husband, her two sons, three cats, rabbit, skinny pig and several reptiles.


Registered Veterinary Technician

Victoria joined the team at Mount Joy Animal Clinic in April 2013 where she’s been providing assistance to the veterinarians and technicians during appointments or clinical procedures. Victoria occasionally takes on reception duties as well. Victoria has always had an interest in the veterinary field since she was a child. She gained her first experience in animal care while she volunteered in high school and has been working with animal ever since. Victoria graduated from Sheridan College and obtained her Registered Veterinary Technician status in 2016. Victoria lives at home with her family, and dog – Teddy.


Animal Care Attendant / Receptionist

Carly has been with us at Mount Joy since October of 2009. She graduated from the Veterinary Assistant program at Durham College the same year. Carly has worked with animals during high school and volunteered at the OSPCA and several other animal oriented businesses to gain experience for her career. She can be seen here at Mount Joy working at the front desk, answering phones and helping with appointments. She always has a smiling face to greet you when you walk through the door. As you can see in her picture above, she adores her sweet cat Otis and likes to go to puppy yoga in her spare time!


Reception / Animal Care Attendant

Liberty started her journey with us while she was in co-op in high-school. She then attended Durham College and came back to us in 2014. You can usually find her at the front desk or assisting one of our doctors during appointments. Liberty loves her two Weimaraners (Moose & Roxy), and her miniature horse named Django.



Vikki is once of the most recognizable faces at Mount Joy as she has been with us for many years. She is usually found at her desk making sure all of our inventory is in stock and that our clients receive their pets food and prescription orders.You may also catch her on the phone during the day and always makes sure your pets needs are properly attended too. Vikki has had many pets throughout the years and has a great love for her cats at home. If you ever come through our second door by the groomers make sure you say Hi!



Michelle joined Mount Joy as a receptionist/assistant in October of 2015. Passionate about animals all her life, Michelle has rescued various fur babies over the years, and volunteered in both clinic and rehab settings. She previously worked for a large pet product retailer, and brings with her, a solid background in customer service. You will often see Michelle's big smile and welcoming attitude as soon as you walk into our clinic. Michelle and her husband live in Markham, along with her two adorable cats.


Animal Care Attendant

Grace is a grade 12 student who aspires to go to Guelph University to pursue her interests in becoming a veterinarian. She volunteered for the Mount Joy family back in 2016 and later on returned for her high-school Co-op in 2018, which soon led to her officially joining our team during the same year. Grace enjoys to figure skate and play rugby in her spare time, as well as spending time with her 2 cats Oliver & Olivia.


Animal Care Attendant

Jessica graduated from the Veterinary Assistant Program at Seneca College in August 2017, she then joined our team in September of the same year. She often assists the doctors with appointments and loves to cuddle and comfort the pets that come in. Jessica is currently attending Seneca College to become a Veterinary Technician. During Jessica's spare time, she loves to play and give love to her very special one-eyed rescue cat Ted.


Animal Care Attendant

Drew is one of our newest additions to the Mount Joy Family. You can usually find him assisting the doctors during their appointments, answering the phones, or helping the technicians in the treatment room. Drew has a great interest in furthering his education by hopefully attending Veterinary School to receive his DVM so that he can continue his passion in loving and aiding animals in need.


Animal Care Attendant

Eryn has been with Mount Joy since she was a high school Co-op student in 2015. She is now a student in the Veterinary Technician Program at Seneca College. Eryn is often seen assisting in appointments, answering the phones, and cuddling our clinic cats. During her free time she rides horses and plays with her dog Bella, her bird Sweetie Pie and her lovable cats Charlie and Frankie.


Animal Care Attendant

Dabriel joined the Mount Joy Animal Clinic team in September 2017, he is currently in grade 12 at St Mary's Catholic Secondary School. Dabriel is an active part in the high school band where he plays Euphonium and was part of the competitive team that qualified in London, and eventually competed in Niagra Falls for Nationals and earning silver. Dabriel hopes to attend Guelph University for Zoology and eventually go to Veterinary School so that he can extend his knowledge and learn all about a wide array of animals. Dabriel has two dogs at a home, an energetic Labrador named kobe, and a fierce pomchi named Leo. You may see Dabriel giving a helpful hand to our doctors during their appointments. Dabriel has been accepted to Guelph University to begin his journey in becoming a Veterinarian.
