Caring For Ferrets

Ferrets are high-maintenance pocket pets. They’re curious and lively by nature, so need a lot of room to play. Their housing shouldn’t be placed in direct sunlight as ferrets can’t sweat and are therefore susceptible to heatstroke. Ferrets are usually spayed and neutered, requiring preventive medicine for the diseases they’re prone to such as rabies and canine distemper. Fleas are common in ferrets and these can be transmitted from other ferrets and household pets.
